This isn’t just for athletes. Whether you have pain from bad posture, are rehabbing an injury, or trying to prevent one in the future – there’s really no downside to strengthening your neck. And the Iron Neck is the #1 tool in the world to do it.
While the Iron Neck may look odd at first, it’s quickly become one of our favorite daily-use tools here at Biohacker Blueprint. They’ve perfected how linear resistance can be applied through rotational movement, allowing users to eliminate neck and back pain, improve their posture, and reduce the risk of injury.
It’s also been featured on the Joe Rogan podcast numerous times as well as being recommended by other top Biohackers like Tim Ferriss and Peter Attia.
Available in three different models, Starter, Varsity, and Pro, the tool is simple to use wherever you are. All you have to do is attach the resistance band to a secure door knob or other handle, hook it to the halo-like headset, put the headset on and inflate the cushion, and you’re ready to go.
Training with the Iron Neck offers two forms of resistance: linear and rotational.
Linear (or isometric) training is done through the use of adjustable resistance bands, allowing you to move your head forwards and backwards while standing at different directions from the resistance band, strengthening the muscles linearly by bending the neck against the resistance.
This type of movement is fairly common in neck strengthening tools, but what makes the Iron Neck unique is the rotational resistance movements, also known as concentric training. With your head snuggly fitted in the halo, you twist your head side to side (as if you’re shaking your head “no”) and the bands within the halo offer resistance through a braking system as the slider moves around the ring.
One thing to note – this concentric resistance option is only available in the Varsity and Pro models.
The starter model allows you to rotate your head within the halo in order to face different directions for different linear direction movements, but not with resistance.
The Varsity model includes the braking mechanism that provides concentric resistance, and the Pro model has an adjustable setting for the brake allowing you to increase or decrease resistance. We recommend at least going with the Varsity model as the concentric strengthening is really what makes the Iron Neck unique and so effective.
But, then again, why have us describe it when you can just watch Joe Rogan do it:
Not a Rogan fan? Fair enough. How about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Jean Jacques Machado describing how he uses the Iron Neck for injury prevention:
Along with the Pso-Rite psoas muscle massager, the Iron Neck is definitely one the most used tool in our arsenal for injury prevention and overall performance optimization. It’s easy to use and unique in what it does, and has truly been a great asset since we discovered it.
As mentioned earlier, the tool comes in three different models, Starter, Varsity, and Pro. We recommend at least using the Varsity model since the Starter does not offer rotational resistance (only rotational movement), but the Pro model is definitely worth the extra spend as it allows you to adjust that rotational resistance for variable friction.
Here’s a breakdown of the model features:

360 Rotational Movement
25lb Resistance Band
